A dancer for 20 years, Canadian-born Tatum was immersed into the world of make-up at a very young age. The minute her mother coated her lashes with mascara and slicked on a bright red lipstick for her first performance, she and the world of beauty were bonded. Years of practice on willing friends and family followed, her passion never wavering. Although she achieved her university degree, the urge for artistic expression within her persisted, so she answered with classes in film make-up at Vancouver Film School. While sometimes fun, film sets are notoriously boring, so Lisa began freelancing for various make-up opportunities. MAC Cosmetics came into the picture in 1997, providing consistent, cutting-edge training and business ventures. It was with MAC that Lisa realized her ultimate reward in doing makeup wasn’t only creativity, but in the response she observed in her clients. Her work brought out a certain confidence in her subject that gave them an inner glow of absolute joy - something that proved to be a motivation in doing her best work, on every face she touched.
